Art Acquisition Fund
Description of fund:
The Hibulb Cultural Center will create a place for research and protection of important historical artifacts of Tulalip culture. The Tulalip tribes have received numerous offers of museum objects, but on the condition that a secure location, such as a cultural center is in place. Through the Tulalip Foundations funding of the Hibulb Cultural Center the Tulalip Tribes will be able to store, process, and display numerous cultural artifacts.
Why it is important:
Through studying the artifacts of the past and preserving the rich cultural history of the Tulalip Tribes. The Tulalip Tribes will be able to pass this knowledge onto future generations. The Tulalip Foundation is working hard to fund research into better understanding and preservation of Tulalip Culture.
How the Tulalip Foundation helps with this issue
The Tulalip Foundation helps with art acquisition by finding lost artifacts and establishing whether they are authentic. Once their authenticity has been determined the Tulalip Foundation uses the art acquisition fund to purchase the art. Then the art is restored and placed on display in the Hibulb Cultural Center.
