Hibulb Cultural Center In Action
The funds generated by the Hibulb Cultural Center Fund are being used to create the Hibulb Cultural Center a place where the history of the Tulalip Tribes can be preserved and protected. A place where the spirit and the knowledge of the Tulalip people can be passed on to today's youth. The Hibulb Cultural Center will:
- Create a special place
- Designing a building that captures/reflects the Tulalip Spirit
- Viewing the entire site as a canvas full of possibilities, an ever evolving space
- Bring Tulalip cultural materials home
- Ethnographic, archaeological, historical, artistic, photographic and archival collections.
- Build our intellectual resources
- Library and archives, plus ongoing research activities of the physical collections
- Celebrating community knowledge
- Share the Tulalip story
- Exhibitions: permanent and temporary
- Using every opportunity to tell the story in all aspects of the facility and programming.
- Promote and value the contemporary arts and artists
- Art is featured throughout the building
- Gift shop to promote tribal artists and artistic traditions
By helping people learn more about the Tulalip Tribe and by protecting the rich cultural past we will be able to pass that rich cultural heritage on to our children. |
